It’s April! Already! Woo!
As I said in my last post, I think summer is officially out the door. And good riddance, humidity! Per usual, lots happened this summer – but also, nothing happened. We can sum up the first few months in just a few words: work, sick, friends, Pancake.
And while I’m working on some actual posts (including words and insights), here’s a big fat photo dump of the year thus far:
Starting slowly…
Did everyone read this article on burnout? I felt seen.
gazing wistfully…
Work has been hard this year. The weekends have become prime napping time.
We met some new neighbors (someone came down and brought one of the cops her sunnies, it was cute)
I met with my beloved pizza pals for a 100,000 calorie brunch
Ohhh affogatos
practicing yoga…
Good Sir Hugh held a BBBQ*
Good Sir Hugh and the fruits of his labour
PUG FACE
pals
Project: ReadMore2k19 is in full effect
organising the closets..
Project: WriteMore2k19 got off to a roaring start, stalled, kinda started again, stalled, and is not kinda almost maybe starting again. It’s in progress.
working on her tan…
There’s rarely a shortage of free books in our neighborhood
touristing…
museum peeping…
getting into weird bondage…
Me and my shadow (unless Joel’s home, then it’s Joel’s shadow
My sewing box has already seen more action this year than it did in the last two years
hiding…
Face masks are still my new favourite thing
I’ve been documenting my outfits on Instagram as a way to pare down my closet… it’s actually working, so more on that later.
bonding…
Spent close to 4 weeks battling an incessant flu/cold/plague, including one weekend where all I did was lie in bed and watch Bohemian Rhapsody.
I went home from work early a few times, which happened to coincide with The Oscars, so that worked out
my flu-addled brain was obsessed with two things: running a fever, and researching and image searching Queen. Here’s Freddie Mercury with Elton John #productive
Not only did I find some Queen gems, but I also found this amazing early days SNL squad
worrying…
Joel made some choice meals, including rosemary crusted lamb chops and fennel salad
He also spent a lot of time with his shadow
I went out to a whiskey bar with the Irish Mums from work, and had drunk, 1AM McDonald’s for the first time in a dog’s age
Felt seen by memes
Changing seasons = gorgeous light shows
I chopped my hair off! It’s almost been a month, and I’m still not used to it.
We celebrated Joel’s brother’s birthday
Someone fell asleep sitting up
Helllllllo, sunset
Introducing Australian’s to Miller Time
baking Blueberry Jazz Bars (recipe coming)
We kept missing our Abercrombie Street family friends-giving due to everyone working and travelling and having lives. But we finally all got together in March for a Sunday BBBQ* at Rob’s
Grill master Dimi
heeeeckkkk
take me back to this lamb
lambs and fishes for Sunday dinner
After Friendsgiving, the temperatures dropped, and Joel made a skillet chicken pot pie. He used a Bon Appetit recipe that called for turnips instead of carrots (it was amazeballs)
Sweater weather is coming. It’s coming, damnit.
bean-cat
Fog!
Grunge is alive and well and I am ok with tihis
More gallery peeping
Sunday park beers
EVERY one in our family loves TLC reality shows
And finishing it out slow
